Colorado PERA Earns Outstanding Achievement Award for Popular Annual Financial Report
2026-05-05T15:41:18DENVER—Colorado PERA has earned an Award for Outstanding Achievement in Popular Annual Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) for the 2024 Popular Annual Financial Report (PAFR).
The PAFR Award is a prestigious national award recognizing conformance with the highest standards for preparation of state and local government popular reports. This is the 23rd consecutive year PERA has earned the PAFR Award.
In order to be eligible for the PAFR Award, a government must also submit its Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR) to GFOA’s Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting Program and receive the Certificate for the current fiscal year. Each eligible report is reviewed by judges who evaluate the report based on reader appeal, understandability, distribution methods, creativity, and other elements.
The PAFR is derived from information contained in the ACFR and is presented in a summarized format for the purpose of reader appeal. PERA’s ACFR and PAFR for the year ending December 31, 2025, will be released at the PERA Board of Trustees’ June 25, 2026, meeting.
