Hon. Rebecca Freyre, first appointed to the PERA Board of Trustees in 2019, is a Judge with the Colorado Court of Appeals. She served as a deputy public defender for twenty-five years and began her legal career in 1990.

Judge Freyre holds a B.A. from Smith College and a J.D. from the Denver University Sturm College of Law. She is a fellow of the Colorado Bar Foundation and was appointed as Chief Deputy of the Court of Appeals in January 2022.
