The Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) has awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting to Colorado PERA for its Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR) for the year ending December 31, 2022. The report has been judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the program, which includes demonstrating a constructive “spirit of full disclosure” to clearly communicate its financial story.

This is the 38th consecutive year that PERA has achieved this prestigious award.

In order to be awarded a Certificate of Achievement, a government must publish an easily readable and efficiently organized ACFR. It must satisfy both generally accepted accounting principles and applicable legal requirements.

PERA also received a GFOA Award for its 2022 Popular Annual Financial Report (PAFR). The PAFR is evaluated on reader appeal, understandability, distribution methods, creativity, and other elements. PERA’s PAFR has received the Outstanding Achievement Award in Popular Annual Financial Reporting for the last 21 consecutive years.
