Colorado PERA has improved the password recovery process for STARS users. Previously, you could make an unlimited number of log-on attempts to access your STARS account. Now you will be limited to five attempts with your User ID, password, or validation question.
After five invalid User IDs or incorrect log-on attempts, the account will lock and you will be redirected to PERA’s Contact Us page for assistance.
If you forget your password, choose “Forgot Password” from the “Employer Login” page. You will be prompted to enter a valid User ID. If you enter an incorrect User ID five times, you will be redirected to PERA’s Contact Us page for assistance.
If you have locked your account by entering an incorrect password, but you have entered a valid User ID, you will be prompted to submit your current email address.
You must then answer a verification question. After you have correctly answered the verification question, PERA will send a temporary password to the email address you submitted. If you answer the verification question incorrectly five times, your account will be locked and you will be redirected to PERA’s Contact Us page for assistance.
Once you have received the temporary password email, enter the temporary password in the box. This password is only valid for 24 hours.
After entering the temporary password, you will be prompted to change your password.
After changing your password, you will be sent to the “Employer login” page to log in with your new password.
