Colorado PERA named Amy McGarrity as its new Chief Investment Officer on March 6, 2017.
Most recently, McGarrity was a Global Equity Product Specialist at William Blair. She has extensive past experience with PERA, serving as the Deputy Chief Investment Officer, where she managed the risk, compliance, performance, and investment operations. She also served as a global equity analyst and co-portfolio manager for PERA’s internally-managed active global portfolio. Previously, McGarrity was the Chief Investment Officer for the Denver Public Schools Retirement System. She has also held prior investment positions at Buck Consultants, Prima Capital Holding, William M. Mercer Investment Consulting, and Caxton Corporation.
“I’m delighted to return to Colorado PERA and to lead a dynamic team of investment professionals whom I consider my colleagues,” McGarrity said. “PERA has an excellent investment track record and I am honored to be entrusted to manage the retirement assets on behalf of Colorado’s public employees.”
McGarrity is a CFA charterholder. She also serves on the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB) Investment Advisory Group, where she provides views and advice to the Board on broad policy issues and other matters that impact investors.
McGarrity holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Wyoming and an MBA from Rider University. She replaces Jennifer Paquette who retired in February.

New Chief Financial Officer
Lawrence Mundy is Colorado PERA’s new Chief Financial Officer. He began his new responsibilities on February 1, 2017.
In 2012, Mundy joined PERA as an Accounting Reporting Manager. He has been involved with producing PERA’s Comprehensive Annual Financial Report as well as maintaining the general ledger, designing accounting processes, and working with affiliated employers and their external auditors.
“I am honored to be named Chief Financial Officer and I am looking forward to continuing PERA’s tradition of transparency and excellence in financial reporting,” said Mundy.
Mundy is a licensed CPA in Colorado. He serves on the Colorado Society of CPAs’ Government Issues Committee and is a member of the Public Pension Financial Forum (P2F2). He’s also a newly-appointed member of the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) Committee on Retirement and Benefits Administration, and is the Treasurer of the Rotary Club of Denver Mile High.
Mundy received a bachelor’s degree in commerce from DePaul University and a master’s degree in accounting from University of Illinois at Chicago. He replaces Karl Greve who retired at the end of January.
