Colorado PERA named Amy McGarrity as its new Chief Investment Officer on March 6, 2017.
Most recently, McGarrity was a Global Equity Product Specialist at William Blair. She has extensive past experience with PERA, serving as the Deputy Chief Investment Officer, where she managed the risk, compliance, performance, and investment operations. She also served as a global equity analyst and co-portfolio manager for PERA’s internally-managed active global portfolio. Previously, McGarrity was the Chief Investment Officer for the Denver Public Schools Retirement System. She has also held prior investment positions at Buck Consultants, Prima Capital Holding, William M. Mercer Investment Consulting, and Caxton Corporation.
“I’m delighted to return to Colorado PERA and to lead a dynamic team of investment professionals whom I consider my colleagues,” McGarrity said. “PERA has an excellent investment track record and I am honored to be entrusted to manage the retirement assets on behalf of Colorado’s public employees.”
McGarrity is a CFA charterholder. She also serves on the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB) Investment Advisory Group, where she provides views and advice to the Board on broad policy issues and other matters that impact investors.
