PERAPlus and DC Plans

The PERAPlus 401(k) and 457 Plans are voluntary retirement savings programs offered by PERA. The PERA DC Plan is available for certain employees who are eligible for PERAChoice.

Life Insurance

PERA offers an optional decreasing term life insurance program administered by Unum.

As many already know, on December 12, 2017, Colorado PERA lost Gregory W. Smith, our wonderful friend, colleague, and leader. Greg died unexpectedly while vacationing with his family in Hawaii.

The Board recently presented a package of recommendations to the Colorado General Assembly that would make changes to PERA that will restore the plan to 100 percent funding within 30 years.

Colorado PERA will mail year-end tax information on IRS Form 1099-R at the end of January. Along with PERA’s federal tax identification number (84-6220742), and part of your Social Security number, the following information may be printed on your 1099-R.
