One of Colorado PERA's best resources is our Web site. You can get the most from our Web site by having a PERA Personal Identification Number (PIN), which allows you to create a user profile and access your Colorado PERA information when it's convenient for you.
On December 1, 2011, Colorado PERA changed how to access account information on the Colorado PERA Web site. Previously, members logged on using both their Social Security number (SSN) and PERA PIN. The first time you log on using your SSN and PERA PIN, you will be prompted to create a new user security profile that includes your User ID and password. This combination of User ID and password replaces the use of the SSN and PERA PIN to access account information on the Colorado PERA Web site.
Watch the Secured Log On Tutorial below for a step-by-step guide on creating your user profile. To watch the video in full-screen, click the "maximize screen" icon (
) in the lower right-hand corner of the video after you click "play."
Members will create a user’s security profile by completing the following:
Select a User ID and password to access Colorado PERA account information on the secured pages of Colorado PERA’s Web site.
Provide an e-mail so that Colorado PERA can communicate any updates to your user security profile.
Provide answers to three security questions that will be used to authenticate you if you forget your User ID and/or password.
Select an image and security phrase that will appear each time you log on to the secure site.
Once you create a user security profile, including User ID and password, you will no longer be able to use your SSN and PERA PIN to log on to the secured pages of Colorado PERA’s Web site—you will need to log on using your User ID and password combination.
Select to receive e-mail notification that your Annual Member Statement, Colorado PERA newsletters, and other publications are available online.
Correspond with Colorado PERA through Secure Correspondence.
Use Colorado PERA calculators with your personal account information.
Complete online forms, such as a Beneficiary Change Form, a PERA or DPS Benefit Structure Retirement Application, and a Service Credit Purchase Application.
Schedule an appointment with a Colorado PERA counselor.
Sign up for certain Colorado PERA meetings (Group Workshops).
Update your contact information (change your address, phone number, or e-mail).
You will need to answer your three security questions. If you answer the questions correctly, your User ID will be populated on the log-on screen.
You will need to answer a personal demographic question in addition to your three security questions—all of these questions will be generated online. Once you are verified, you will be allowed to change your password immediately and Colorado PERA will send a confirmation e-mail to the e-mail address on file.
If you do not have a PERA PIN, you will need to request one in order to set up your User ID and password.
Call Colorado PERA's Customer Service Center at 303-832-9550 or 1-800-759-7372 or complete an online PERA PIN Request.
Colorado PERA issues PERA PINs only to individuals who have been verified by PERA.
You will be mailed a PERA PIN within seven days to the address of the requester on file at Colorado PERA.
Use your PERA PIN to create a user profile.
Please remember to keep your user profile confidential.
Keep your PERA PIN since you will need it to speak with an ING Participant Services Representative about your PERAPlus 401(k) and/or 457 Plan account or to access any account information.
You may deactivate your PERA PIN at any time, which will prevent all users (including you) from accessing your Colorado PERA account information via the Internet.
Call Colorado PERA's Customer Service Center at 303-832-9550 or 1-800-759-7372 to deactivate your PERA PIN.
You should not deactivate your PERA PIN if you have a PERAPlus 401(k) and/or 457 account since you will need your PERA PIN to speak to an ING Participant Services Representative about your account or to access any account information.
PERA PINs will automatically be deactivated after five consecutive unsuccessful log-on attempts.
You may reactivate your PERA PIN or request your current PERA PIN be mailed only by calling Colorado PERA's Customer Service Center at 303-832-9550 or 1-800-759-7372.
Once a PERA PIN is reissued, your security profile, including your User ID and password, will be wiped clean and you will need to create a new user security profile.
You may select to receive electronic notification of the Member Report, the Schedule of Colorado PERA Meetings, the Summary Annual Financial Report, and Annual Member Statement via e-mail rather than the printed versions mailed to your home address. You'll receive your Colorado PERA news faster than if we mailed it to you, and you'll be helping Colorado PERA to reduce operating costs associated with printing and mailing.
To request Electronic Delivery, log on to your account, then select Electronic Delivery from the Online Services drop-down menu and follow the prompts as indicated.
